Dear Fellow CPCU’s,

It’s that time of year when one looks back at what we’ve accomplished.  However, we can’t look back too long since we are busy planning for the future.  Your local chapter has been very active this past year and we have some exciting events planned for 2019!  You’ll want to be sure to renew your national and local chapter membership so you can fully participate in our upcoming activities.  To make it easier to renew, we’ve lowered the cost for a local membership for retirees and CPCU candidates to ½ the cost of a full membership.  All paid members attend our meetings at no cost and many of them include a meal.  But, your membership dues go beyond paying for your lunch.

This past year we donated $2,500 to local universities to support their efforts to train the new generation of insurance professionals.  We donated to local charities and organized the annual CPCU Insurance Industry coat drive and collected nearly 3,000 items to donate to local residents.

Some of your dues pay to train your local chapter officers so we can continue to provide engaging, informative CE sessions.  We try to plan at least 7 hours of CE for our members each year, including 2 hours of Ethics training in March.  These CE hours also count toward your “CE for CPCU” requirements to remain a member in good standing.  We’ll report them for you so you could have up to 14 hours of the necessary 24 hours of CE reported.

I’ve always been a firm believer in “Work hard, Play hard”, so we also plan for some fun, strictly social events.  Last year we worked with IBNO to hold a putting contest at the Westfield Golf Course.  Our November dinner meeting is a great time to come together to celebrate our new designees and mingle with some of the students we support.  We are hoping to plan a winter social as well in 2019.

Renew your membership today before you forget!  See you in 2019!
