President’s Corner

Hello Fellow and Future CPCU’s!

As we rang in the New Year, we were busy swearing in quite a few new Officers to our Board. As your new acting President, I would first like to extend the most sincere “Thank you” to our immediate past president, Randy Ellis, for everything he has done for our Society over the years. Through his leadership, we have raised thousands in charitable contributions, in addition to our annual Coat Drive that saw its 21st year of success! He has been the face of our Society and has continually represented Cleveland and our Chapter in the most remarkable fashion. We are also saying “Good-bye” to our dutiful admin, Linette Giles, who has finally decided to officially retire with her husband. We are so grateful for everything she has done for us with CE filings, meeting coordination and making sure we all stay on top of what we need to do. She will be difficult to replace, to say the least. Speaking of, anyone know of an interested party who would be willing to assume her role???

We have been busy behind the scenes already this year and have quite a bit lined up for you – in January, we will be meeting with IBNO at Market Garden for the State of the Industry, February we will be hosting a Diversity themed lunch at the Holiday Inn with DCNEO and March will be Ethics for Breakfast with the Honorable Brian F. Hagan. Be sure to renew your national and local chapter membership so you can fully participate in our upcoming activities! We kept it easy with the same (lowered) cost for a local membership for retirees and CPCU candidates. All paid members attend our meetings at no cost. Need help getting your employer on board? Reach out to us for assistance and we’ll help you share the benefits our Society has to offer!

Please feel free to contact me or any of our Board members, especially if your New Year’s Resolution involved being more involved in our community. We are always looking for volunteers, from involved roles as an officer or committee member through simpler functions as you are able. It’s time to put your hard-earned CPCU to use!

I am very excited to be your representative as President and I look forward to seeing the work we can do together! Happy 2020!!!
