President’s Corner

Welcome to the Cleveland Chapter of the CPCU Society!

Hi fellow CPCU members, my name is Kevin Keys and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as your next Cleveland CPCU Chapter President for 2022.  I look forward to working with all CPCU members to help continue providing growth and opportunity in your ongoing careers.  A bit about myself.  I received my CPCU in 2017 while I worked at Amtrust Financial Services Inc as a commercial underwriter.  Before joining Amtrust I worked at Erie Insurance Group for 13 years in the Commercial Insurance department as an underwriter and underwriter assistant.  I spent some time on the agency side and I currently work at the technology company Naviant where I work as an Account Executive and help companies in the insurance industry, as well as those in government and other private industries, through their digital transformation.  I became the Education Chair for the Cleveland CPCU Chapter in 2020 and served as president-elect in 2021.  I’m also a strategic partner for InsurTech Ohio where I look to build bridges between those trying to influence insurance through technology and CPCU members looking to gain an understanding of what is going on with technology in insurance and are looking to push the industry forward.

During 2020 and 2021 we held multiple webinars with InsurTech Ohio, the Cincinnati CPCU Chapter, and other Ohio CPCU chapters and will look to continue these joint efforts moving forward.  For Q1 of 2022, we currently have our 2021 conferment scheduled for January 12th, 2022 and I hope all members can join us in this celebration.  We are also working on offering our annual ethics class in February with a possible in-person and online option, with more details to follow.

As we continue to navigate our ever-changing world because of COVID and the changes it’s brought we want to continue to make sure we bring as much value as we can to our members and are always looking for suggestions and ideas on how better to serve the CPCU community.  So if you have any thoughts or suggestions on what we can do better please don’t hesitate to contact me or one of our other board members.

I look forward to serving you throughout 2022 and hope to help you achieve the goals you have both in the short term and long term.
